Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine

Acupuncture is a system of medicine that has been used for over 2000 years. Today there are millions of people in the US who turn to Acupuncture, along with herbal medicine, as a treatment modality used for acute and chronic physical, emotional and physiological conditions.  With relatively few if any side effects, acupuncture is used to restore balance and promote the body-mind-spirit’s tremendous natural healing capacity

Acupuncturists stimulate specific points on the body to keep your qi following smoothly and balanced throughout the body.  Throughout our life our qi, sometimes translated as “vital energy” or “life force”, may become blocked or out of balance, resulting in accumulations or deficiencies.  This shows up to us as pain, various symptoms of dis-ease, or both.  You will partner with your practitioner to develop a unique treatment plan to relieve these symptoms.

Hair thin needles are used to stimulate the specific points and many people do not feel more than a pin prick or mild sensation during treatment.

Following treatment, most people report feeling relaxed, some feel more energized and focused or more centered.
